The Pakistani army chief, Gen. Sharif will seek the Afghan military’s cooperation for “a joint operation to counter terrorism and eliminate militants hiding inside Afghanistan”, the officials quoted by Dawn News said.Asim Bajwa, spokesman for the Inter-service Public Relation, said Gen. Sharif is accompanied by the ISI chief who will meet with the Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and ISAF Commander.

The visit by Gen. Sharif to Kabul comes as Islamabad believes the attack on Peshawar school was masterminded by aTaliban commander Umar Naray from Afghanistan.A Pakistani security official has said the Taliban commander was issuing directives to militants for carrying out the attack.

The official further added that the issue has been shared with the Afghan military and NATO in Afghanistan after the communications of the Taliban commander was intercepted which helped to trace his location and whereabouts.

The responsibility of the attack was claimed by the Pakistani Taliban group – Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).Pakistani Taliban spokesman Mohammad Khorasani has told media the attack was a revenge of their people killed in Pakistan’s military operation in North Waziristan.

Pakistan’s military operation has been ongoing in North Waziristan since June 15, after peace talks with the Taliban failed and then the Karachi airport was attacked leaving at least 28 people dead.
